Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to bring people around the table to eat a good meal together
ABOUT ME
In March I gave away all my belongings, flew into Lisbon, Portugal, and traveled on foot for a month to Finisterre, Spain. In Spain a Dutch man learned I was Amsterdam-bound and gifted me with his bicycle, suggesting I ride there. The next 40 days were spent riding through the mountains of Galicia, Basque Country, France, and Belgium until finally arriving in Amsterdam, where I cooked for a hostel until August. I'm back in the US, living in the South for a season, dreaming up the next adventure.
PHILOSOPHY
Sin amor, nada sirve.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
To fluctuate between being the visitor and the visited... There is deep pleasure in spontaneous encounters with strangers and we've got to look out after each other!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Up until now, couch-surfing has been informal, word-of-mouth type ventures. I've hosted countless friends-of-friends in Portland, on the Oregon Coast, and even while apartment-sitting in Amsterdam.
Interests
cooking for friends, bonfires, books, live shows, farmers markets, bicycles, mountains, the ocean, documentaries, languages, people, conversations, being a perpetual student.

Music, Movies, and Books
Jazz, blues, funk, african drumming, salsa, ambient, folk, oh and so much more. And Jose Marti is my literary hero.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I fell down a waterfall in the Dominican Republic in 2005, and was rescued when a Dominican man performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. They say I have a new daddy...
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to make your own hula hoop. And how to get out of debt by eating beans and rice.
