About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a special needs teacher in Roswell, GA. I'm in the crocus stage of becoming a Speech Therapist, and headed to graduate school August 2015. I'm really down for new experiences! Never afraid to eat something wild or go somewhere strange. I'm very compassionate and care deeply about people I meet (even if it's for a short time!) I'm also learning more and more about the balance between spending time with friends and spending time alone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new! But so many of my friends couchsurfed and hosted. I have enjoyed meeting their couchsurfers when I lived in Athens, GA.
WHAT I WANT
To share an experience with someone else in the world, long or short.
Interests
I am a music enthusiast/worshiper. Being a DJ at the college radio station WUOG90.5 was my favorite activity. I hosted our female vocalist show (Odd Man Out) and funk, soul, and r&b show (Player's Picnic) every week, and I love making playlists.
Wildlife and pets are a new interest for me. I love going out with big rubber boots and looking for salamanders, frogs, insects, birds and any wildlife I can spot.
I like learning new instruments - I can play the ukulele!

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't know that much about old cinema or interesting directors, but I have love in my heart for every weeknight cable screening of Remember the Titans.
I am a huge fan of female vocalists. I love Feist, Hundred Waters, the Aislers Set and Neko Case.
I'm reading the first Game of Thrones book right now. I am also reading The Woodstock Bridge: A Journey to Discover Your Spirit by Gregory Drambour
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spending time at SXSW in Austin was the most otherworldly experience I've ever had. Live shows literally sprang up from the underground. What looked like a parking garage was really your music critic's fantasy. I'd love to tell you about it, if you can take the gushing.
I was also pretty moved by a modern art exhibit in Puerto Rico. The weather was so hot there that they had to seal all the pieces with a musky-eye watering chemical so they wouldn't be affected by the humidity. The temperature gave kind of a weird hallucinogenic feel and some of the pieces were really alarming and demanded mind expansion. One theme that was present in a lot of the works was what your identity means to be a citizen of the commonwealth of the USA.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a lot about dog breeds and a fair amount about animals. I have worked with kids my whole life and think about issues surrounding kids often.
I would love to learn how to longboard. I admire people who sew their own clothes.
