About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the world, and hangout with awesome people along the way

ABOUT ME

Hello! I am a Canadian girl traveling through Latin America and some of Europe this year. I can speak in English, French, and a little Spanish. I am keen to meet new friends and experience the various cultures in the places that I visit. I am outgoing, open to new ideas, and always looking for a new adventure!I went to Dalhousie University in Halifax for Political Science, and have since lived on the East Coast of Canada. Last year, I went to Guatemala to volunteer for two months at a pre-school and traveled throughout the beautiful country. Afterwards, I spent a few weeks surfing in Costa Rica.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life in the moment, you never know when something can change. I take all interesting opportunities because it could lead to something amazing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I am abroad at the moment, I would like to surf couches. However I would love to host when I get resettled in Canada!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to couchsurf, but I am looking forward to meeting people in all the places that I will visit!

Interests

I have the travelbug! I am keen to see what the world has to offer and meet friends along the way. I love spending time with my friends and family while I am in Canada. I like outdoor activities, yoga, reading, photography, live music, politics, and learning about other cultures. I am passionate about food, so it has been great sampling the local foods as I travel. As well as the drinks!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love seeing live music! While my taste varies between different genres, I have been listening to foals, bloc party, hey rosetta!, the arcade fire, plants and animals, bon iver, the tallest man in the world, jay z, the hilltop hoods, gotye, edward sharpe and the magnetic zeros, iron and wine, knaan, stars, among other things during my travels. My favourite movies include dirty dancing, dumb and dumber, shawshank redemption and home alone. The Kite Runner, the Alchemist, the Catcher in the Rye, the Outsiders, the Harry Potter series, the Glass Castle, The Blue Sweater, Half the Sky, and many more! Chealsea Handler and David Sedaris books give me a good laugh!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favourite travel experience was in Guatemala when I hiked up a volcano and camped on the top crater for the night. The volcano right beside was erupting and throwing lava into the air all night. It was amazing to see the contrast of the firery lava in the dark sky! I also loved watching the sun rise that morning over the entire country.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people about Canada, and the countries that I have visited. I like to dicuss politics and history (without offending people!) because it is interesting to hear different views on these subjects. I hope that I can teach people things, while learning myself.
