I babysat for these girls. They say I have a weird and crazy face...but they LIKE IT!

Now I work as a nurse, and continue to work with children who comment on my weird and crazy face.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am an ambassador, and I do my best to be as welcoming to anyone in the Couch Surfing community. I host, I surf, I dream about hosting, I think about where I will surf next. I am trying to help build a stronger network of surfers everywhere I go.

I have hosted events in the Oakland area, and hope to get more involved in future events. Need a partner in crime for East Bay Happy Hour!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have now Couch Surfed in Africa, Europe, Central America, the Middle East and the US. I have hosted a bunch of people in my Soviet apartment in Kolomiya, Ukraine; Berkeley, CA and now Oakland, CA. My first experience was in Vegas, and I was immediately hooked!

I have made some really amazing friends through this site, and hope to make many more.

Travel. Dancing! Saving the world...kinda. Love. Decorating my flat. Setting kitchen on fire. Music. Movies (copious amounts). Riding bikes. Climbing rocks. Exploring. Nursing. Reading the New Yorker. Tabasco. Freezing Cold Drinking Water. Drafts (the breezy kind, the beer kind, but not the government kind). Knitting. Sleeping in my sleeping bag in my room and pretending I'm camping. Friends. Couch Surfing (hosting you/surfing your couch). Laughter. Love. Travel. Travel. Travel! Pilates. Psychiatry. Listening to Podcasts and music. Walking around town. Walking on the beach! Trying to not get bit by evil dogs (score one for evil dogs, none for me). Trying to not get bit by babies (score one babies, none for me) Hanging out with friends and their families. Dancing. The occasional somersault or cart-wheel.

It has also been said that I spin a mad hula hoop and make a mean Buffalo Burger.

Here is a mini-list of things I am into right at this moment of writing (subject to change)

Movies: Bridesmaids, Horrible Bosses, Mean Girls (classic!), Borat, and a few serious films here and there, but mostly I am into comedies.

Music: Calvin Harris, Lumineers, Phoenix, Edward Sharpe, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Passion Pit, Yeah Yeah Yeahs. When I was a kid I was obsessed with NKOTB.

Books: Game of Thrones (oh yeah, all of them), select non-fiction and I thoroughly enjoy reading the New Yorker.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I carried the torch for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics.

Saw a lion chowing down on a giraffe in Botswana (I was vegetarian at the time, but damn, that was cool)

Was one of those kids that collects flowers at the Figure Skating World Championships in Colorado Springs.

I got into grad school to become a Nurse Practitioner 7 years after I dropped college Biology because I thought it was too hard. Have since considered a HONC if you love Biology bumper sticker for my car.

I can teach you the best way to get from Berkeley to Alameda on a bike without popping a tire or getting hit by a car.

The state bird of Colorado is the Lark Bunting, and Oakland is the home of MC Hammer, Mai Tais and POPSICLES (actually from Alameda). See, you have already learned so much!
