About Me

Hey there! After almost a decade away, I’m reactivating my Couchsurfing account — because some things never change. Like my love for real connections, spontaneous adventures, and discovering places through the eyes of locals.

I’m Andreas. Outgoing, curious, always up for good music, good stories, and good company. I’ve traveled across Europe (where I’m from), Latin America, and Africa — which I now call home. I’ve lived in 8 countries and believe that the best travel memories aren’t about landmarks but about the people you meet along the way. Some of my most meaningful friendships started on a Couchsurfing couch.

A bit more about me: I’m married, a father of two, an entrepreneur, and someone who still believes the world’s meant to be explored with open eyes — and open doors. I speak some Spanish and plan to host soon too (we’ve just bought a house with space for guests).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Now I’m heading to New York — and instead of hotels, I’m hoping to meet people who love the city and want to share their version of it. I’ll be hitting some great parties (I’m a huge fan of electronic music), and I’m always down for sharing music, stories, or just hanging out over a drink or a dancefloor.

Interests

Electronic music, dancing, underground parties, cultural exchange, travel, psychology, entrepreneurship, deep conversations, community building, spontaneous adventures, sunrise dance floors, discovering local scenes, making new friends around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Even though I’m married, I’ll admit I have a lifelong affair… with electronic music.
It’s my first love — especially house, afro house, melodic techno, and deep house. But really, I’m into anything that moves people, from classic rock to Latin grooves. If there’s a good vibe, I’m in. Big fan of live sets, underground parties, and sunrise dance floors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve been hosting parties in Johannesburg for the past few years — intimate gatherings with friends, friends of friends, and a curated DJ lineup. What started as casual get-togethers turned into something special: a community of people connecting over music, rhythm, and shared moments. Creating that space — and watching strangers become friends on the dance floor — has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done.

Teach, Learn, Share

How to throw a party people actually remember — the kind where the vibe is real, the music hits just right, and strangers leave as friends. How to start fresh in a new country and build a life from scratch.
Oh, and… that Germans aren’t always as serious as the stereotype — some of us even know how to dance 😉

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, a curious mind, and plenty of stories from living, working, and partying across three continents. I’ll happily share music, local insights from South Africa, a bottle of something special if that’s your vibe — and if there’s a dance floor, I’m always game to bring good energy.
