About Me

ABOUT ME

It's my goal in life to experience the world as fully and as richly as I am capable. I seek out experiences with people and places that provide new, interesting, challenging, and fresh perspectives, especially ones that allow me to grow and learn as a contributing person in this world.

PHILOSOPHY

"I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new!

Interests

Anything challenging and new (keeping in mind the things I've seen before can still be new and still be challenging); I'm especially draw to creative works - visual art, installation pieces, engaging activities, interaction, and more. I'm a writer, photographer, and filmmaker with my hand in many pots. As long as I'm learning from whatever is around me, I'll be satisfied.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm all about this! Noah Baumbach's "Frances Ha" is my most recent love in film. Also really into this little Canadian band Whitehorse - you should listen! Books, ahem, Salinger and Bukowski and Winterson. Currently adapting a Kate Chopin story as well. Love her.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first time I walked to Unter den Linden in Berlin when I moved there in 2007 holds me tight. I fell in love with the feeling that I could make that city my home and I did just that. I love being in places that remind me of their existence. Sometimes we get so caught up in the bubbles we create back home, I think it's important to pull yourself out of that every so often. A second experience happened before this one when I went to Costa Rica with my mom. We visited an active volcano during the day and went back at night to see the red glow slide down the side of the mountain. It was the neatest site. Simple but completely foreign to me.

I'm into art, photography, film, journalism, creative writing, hip hop - collaborations? yes please - any way, shape, or form that we can better ourselves in any field, let's do it.
