About Me

ABOUT ME
Well, some words about myself:

- I’m easy-going, open-minded, spontaneous, unfancy, very patient, curious, mostly extrovert, a chocoholic, an optimist

- I quit my job in June 2024 and spent a year abroad at different places… and decided to move to Bologna in Oct. 2025

- I prefer outdoor over indoor, change over continuity hence trying a new dish over ordering a known one, beer over wine, imagination over pure logic, dogs over cats (after dinosaurs)

- the simple things I like: salty/spicy chocolate, Korean food 👅, shazamming a cool song, singing in the car, learning new words, rainy days (couching yeay 🍿), daydreaming, unpredicted encounters that make me laugh, a good hug with friends

- I get goosebumps on my back from eating shortcrust pastry or digging in the sand

- I love meeting new people (surprise surprise!) - if we have a different opinion on things, it’s always nice to gain a new perspective on topics… but I don’t tolerate intolerance e.g. attitudes against queer/LGBTQIA+ equality or ethnic minorities - discrimination is not an opinion

PHILOSOPHY

“Change is the only constant.”

“Don't find yourself, create yourself.” (*and let the world participate in the creation process)

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” (For me personally, life in this world is enough - beautiful/enriching/diverse enough. Why would a beyond or afterlife be necessary?)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

meeting the first couchsurfers I ever hosted after 11 years, becoming a German teacher for kids at a hospital, working as English teacher in Istanbul, seeing the northern lights at my brother’s new home, studying abroad, playing in an Indonesian music video (although I wasn’t content with my performance 😅), living in a Kyrgyz family, working as mascot (e. g. Oreo cookie ^^), celebrating Carnival and New Year's Eve in Brazil, cheering at lucha libre in Mexico City, running a half marathon, enjoying being all by myself, hiking stairways to heaven on O’ahu, attending a Javanese wedding, hiking with my brother in the midnight sun on Lofoten, celebrating Christmas away from home (on the beach/in the jungle), rooftop camping in Namibia, always amazing: spotting animals in the wild (moose, pudú, ñandú, chameleon, whale shark, tamandua, wolf, etc.)
