About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Show people that the world owns us and not the opposite \ Mostrar às pessoas que o mundo é nosso dono e não o oposto

ABOUT ME

I'm a hotel recepcionist at a hotel in Rio. I share my house (5 rooms) with my parents and two cousins. I got a girlfriend that had to deal with a major health problem (viral encephalitis) 5 years ago and still has some problems to express her thoughts and speak. She behaves normally, though. Apart from these problems she and I have a normal life. She doesn't live with me. Other than that I consider myself an intelligent and fun person. I like to talk (and listen). I like to share all sort of experiences with people. Friendships are like engagements: good and bad things in a package. I'm a little of a shrink, a teacher, a comedian, a philosopher, a critical. And I haven't killed anybody in the last 34 years...

PS: Don't smoke. Drinks eventually. No drugs at all!

PHILOSOPHY

Nothing is more important than the moment you are living now and the opportunities you have to enjoy being with the ones you love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I'd rather start by getting to know people that have already been to someone else's places. I intend to join local meetings of couch surfers in order to get used to the CS philosophy. Guess it feels a little like going to a nude beach! lol. As soon as I feel more comfortable with the idea, everything will flow easier.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None until now. But I'm sure that will change as soon as I lose my hymen at CS! ;)

Interests

Talking, laughing at bar tables, going to the beach, swimming, diving, cycling, walking, movies, reading books, surfing the web, a little videogame, theater, music (eclectic for good music), etc...

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: E.T., Taxi Driver, American Beauty,Fahrenheit 451, The Notebook, In Search of a Midnight Kiss, Cinema Paradiso, Ferrys Bueller's day off, After Hours, A Beautiful Mind, Watchmen, Into the Wild, etc.

Music: Pink Floyd, Tery Moïse, Duffy, Raul Seixas, Queens of the Stone Age, Noisettes, blues, jazz, and good music in general

Books: About a Boy, Meu Pé de Laranja Lima, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Lucíola, High Fidelity, Nature's End, Firestarter, Macunaíma, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was born in Paraty, this magical city at 3 hours from Rio. I have spent most of my childhood and adolescence coming and going to this city where my grandmother (still alive) owns this small restaurant by the shore. Most amazing thing I've seen so far was my 6 years old niece (and goddaughter) getting born!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to learn and teach about just everything: science, geography, history, music, UFO's, culture, traditions, folklore, books, comic books, computers, society, love, life, etc. I suck (big time) when it comes to playing (or discussing) soccer. The same applies to Samba. Brazilian Stereotype is definitely not my case!
