About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a 24-year-old guy who spent 2 years teaching English and travelling in Asia and Europe. I'm back in the US now and getting back to journalism, but still looking to meet people with travel minded souls and minds.

PHILOSOPHY

Drink good beer, eat lots of bacon and stay up until sunrise because you never know when you might have a stroke.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting for now, hopefully surfing again soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I may have gotten dengue fever from the backyard of a couchsurfing host, but I've also had amazing nights on a beached boat in Croatia, hot pot with a Russian in Thailand, excellent conversation in Istanbul and dinner companions in Venice. Couchsurfing is an essential tool for any traveler and now that I've settled down, I'm excited to host.

Interests

Cooking the strangest thing I can find in the market, eating something I've never tried before, dark beer, travel, photography, sunny days, sailing, reading non fiction, movies that make you think, walking food markets.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've seen is the smiles of the children who live in an above-ground cemetery in Manila. They sleep next to bags of bones and play pool under tarps hung between stacks of concrete coffins, but they smile full and deep even as the storm approaches.
