I've been hosting and surfing since 2007 - my ex-partner (Pe) and I shared a profile until we split in 2012 (Luckily we're still good friends). I very much fell off after that. Check it out if you'd like to see my past life :)

I spent most of my twenties either travelling or working odd jobs to travel with my Pe. In 2012 I landed an amazing writing job as a writer and have been there ever since. I still try and go on big trips (I've been able to get away with 7-8 weeks of work/personal travel the last couple of years) but it's just not the same as the carefree wandering :)

I am a people person, although I do need my time alone for reflection - and my writing, which takes it's own chunk of the day. I've discovered sports late in life and now get very twitchy if I don't ride a bike, go climbing, and run a couple of times a week.

I absolutely adore being in and a part of nature. People talk about being a mountain person or a beach person - I'd hate to have to choose one over the other.

My mind and body were built to travel (except maybe my joints...)
I'm super lucky to be able to sleep just about anywhere.

I try and live healthily but I will almost always trade it for a good time, a good beer, or good food. What do they say? Life is for living?

I was on couchsurfing about for about 5 years between 2007-12 with my partner (our old profile: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/pe_and_andrew)
When we split in 2012 I fell out of the scene and haven't really lived anywhere since that's been appropriate for hosting.

But having been on the road catching up with old couchsurfing mates I feel the pull back to it, making friends and learning about the world through people. I'm just hoping couchsurfing hasn't changed that much :) It and the people I met through it are still very close to my heart. Sharing our stories over food and wine/beer and laughter, and learning from each other. It's a glorious exchange.

Trekking through two valleys in Nepal, and crossing between them through glaciers. Nepal is so fantastically beautiful.

I used to be an editor, and am now a technical writer, so I know a few things about English. I also like to cook and play the guitar and travel - all things I like to talk about and share.
I love language, though I lack the diligence to follow through. I reckon we're here to learn as much as possible about the world and people around us. For that I am a sponge.
