Hello !

My name is Andrew Chau. I am 18, young and curious. I look to CS to make new friends and to find new adventure. I love working, hiking (when I get the chance to), reading, and just hanging out. I am currently attending UCSB (University of California, Santa Barbara) studying Economics and Accounting. Currently, I am in the dorms, and I could host- although it might not be the most comfortable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Coachsurfing provides a cheap and exciting adventure. Money is a problem for a college student like me. In addition, I love meeting new people and making friends. Traveling has always been a dream for me, and when I found out about couchsurfing, I was excited. Couchsurfing allows me to meet new people and find out about their lives, while allowing me the option to explore.

Interests

I am into working out, mainly lifting and a bit of swimming. I try to eat clean, but it is difficult sometimes. I am a huge fan of stand up comedy, mainly Kevin Hart, Louie CK, Chris Rock and Tucker, and George Carlin. I play video games- on occasion. My main game right now is League of Legends, but college has taken its toll and I am left with less time.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a variety of music. It ranges from Classical to Kpop to edm to rap. My favorite song is Enter Sandman by Metallica. It will always be a song that pumps me up. My second favorite would have to be dare you to move by switchfoot. That song has nostalgic value for me.
My favorite movie is Big Fish. My favorite TV show is The Office.
I would say that my favorite book would be Enders Game. I thought the movie was a horrible adaptation by the way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel like a lot of 'amazing' things that have occurred to me was not because of my actions. They were luck.

I won a laptop that I needed for college in a raffle. I got away from a ticket because the police officer knew my friend.

I am not exactly sure what I can put here. I understand that I am still a young person, which is exactly why I desire to travel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a positive attitude and a willingness to listen to whatever stories. I am open minded about life, and I believe that life has unexpected things in store for me. Hosts can expect a great sense of humor, along with a willingness to do crazy things with them. I am clean, organized (not a neat freak though), and well spoken. I am friendly and outspoken. If there is an issue or something I really appreciate, I will speak on it.
