About Me

I'm a software engineer and writer with a deep love for stories and travel. For me, traveling isn't just about seeing new places; it's about connecting with people and understanding the world from a different perspective. Whether it's walking the Camino in Portugal or exploring the streets of London, I'm always looking for the next adventure and the next conversation.
I've explored many European countries - Norway, Sweden, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Italy, and I'm really looking to expanding my experience beyond. I hope I can travel to North America, the US and Canada, and Australia and New Zealand.
I like reading books, writing - I'm writing my memoir right now and taking a self-editing course from the literary consultancy in London, I love meeting new people and sharing stories with them.
I also volunteer as an English tutor. I've been to Angloville in Poland and Pueblo Ingles in Spain - English-language immersion programmes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe the best travel experiences come from genuine human connection. I'm on Couchsurfing to meet like-minded people, share stories, and experience a place through the eyes of those who call it home, rather than just as a tourist.
I prefer homestays as I enjoy getting to know the locals and their traditions, as well as their food. It's a fantastic opportunity to learn, expand my horizons and exchange stories. I've been hosted in Barcelona and Edinburgh and made friends there.

Music, Movies, and Books

A huge fan of anything with a great story. I grew up with Harry Potter and still believe in its magic. I am a Gryffindor and Slytherin blend. I love the cleverness of the BBC's Sherlock, and my taste in books ranges from non-fiction on personal growth to great novels. For music, I enjoy modern pop and indie bands like Years & Years and The Script. I also love John Grant's music - he's the best artist in my opinion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent nearly a year as a full-time volunteer healthcare assistant in a community for people with special needs. It was an incredibly formative experience that taught me a lot about compassion, patience, and the importance of human connection.

Teach, Learn, Share

love the idea of cultural exchange. I can teach:

Techy bits — from building a website to making apps less scary.

Fluent English — especially accents, idioms, and conversation practice.

A few vegetarian recipes that are quick, healthy, and surprisingly tasty.

I’d love to learn:

Local culture, history, and everyday life in your city.

Languages (even just a few phrases to make people smile).

Any cooking, music, or hidden local skills you’re happy to share.

And I’d share:

Travel stories (some funny, some chaotic).

Good conversation and a genuine curiosity about people.

A positive, respectful attitude — I’m easy-going and adapt well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Company over a meal, a walk, or a late-night chat.

My cooking (vegetarian, with a bias toward comfort food).

Tech help — setting up your phone, fixing Wi-Fi mysteries, or answering “why does my computer hate me?”

A listening ear — I enjoy hearing people’s stories as much as sharing mine.

Respect for your space and your rules — I’m independent but happy to spend time together if you’d like.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Ireland, United Kingdom
