About Me

Hi everyone,

Im a jolly old English man who fluctuates living between the UK and Japan. At the moment my permanent base is in Mito, Japan and Im working as an Engineer - If you can call it that! Really I sit at a desk for 8 hours sending email's making tea.

It would be great to stay with you!

And if you like, come and stay we me. In Mito there is Kairakuen which is beautiful (one of the three famous Japanese Parks) and we are close to Hitachi seaside park...I also know few good Natto restaurants!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I have travelled I have always stayed in hotels and hostels. There a great way to meet fellow travellers but i thought I would try getting to meet the locals as well!

Also, my home is your home. If you want to come and stay with me for a nigh or so then be my guest!

Interests

My interests are anything sport related. Unfortunately I broke my ankle a few years ago and so I have been hampered a little by that. I can still do stuff but im no longer the budding pro athelite that I once was (thats what I tell myself anyway). I like going to music festivals and every morning I wake up 30 minutes early to study japanese...Im still terrible though :(

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is pretty varied. Going through university I loved drum and bass and dubstep. i then switched to house music as I got a little older and now Im starting to like my bands more having had a great time last year at Glastonbury exploring the various tents. Im not much of a reader and a lack of attention span makes movies tricky - having said that I thought that district 9 was epic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I survived a cliff top bus crash in Bolivia!

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope that I can share many things with a host. A good conversation over a cup of tea, go for a jog, play a game of tennis or go drinking and fall asleep at a bus shelter. I can sing a song, play the triangle and Im an expert at starting BBQs in windy conditions.
