About Me

Hi all you eager travellers!

I am Andrew Hart and I am completing an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Western Australia. I have grown up in good ol WA for nearly all of my life and I am literally the most Australian person I have ever met :)

Aside from not getting killed by most of our wildlife, I have lived a pretty chilled life growing up with sun surf and swanny d. I'm just an average guy wanting to meet like minded travelers around the world. You never know, I could become your new best Aussie friend :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As previously stated, I am on Couchsurfing to experience a broader range of cultures from all countries around the world. I am not very good at regurgitating a language, but I can give it my best shot at accents!

Staying at a university in WA that hosts many international students made me think, "you know what? People are awesome!" Not saying that being an Aussie isn't the best thing since sliced bread, but it is nice to meet new people and hear their story, no matter how far the distance is.

Interests

I enjoy many things! I am the one that will probably jump on board before someone even suggests what we are actually jumping on board to. I enjoy outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, canoeing, swimming and doing out there kind of stuff that mum might scold me for because its "UNSAFE".

One thing I thoroughly enjoy and highly recommend to anyone who gets the chance, is flying. I aint Superman but I am a certified recreational pillot! Seriously the best thing I have done! Who knows? I might one day take you up!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite music? Hmmmm? I kinda go on and off music. Anything chill like Ball Park Music, Last Dinosaurs, San Cisco and Circa Waves are by far my all time favourite bands. Sadly though I have never experienced any of them fist hand! I want to see Ball Park Music soooo bad!

Asking me aout my favourite movies will take longer than getting fast internet down unda! I am a big super hero fan and I love super hero movies. Like any day of the week you can bet a bag of goon I am game for a superhero movie. My favourite movie of all time though is Saving Private Ryan. I get the chills just thinking about it!

I read books but like....comic books....not extensivley....just a bit. Harry Potter (like who hasnt read that?) Uh the newspaper....Thats reading right? Uhm pretty much anything that seems interesting and akin to my mood is all good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Apart from getting my pilots licence. One of the single best things I have ever done is a two week trip from down south in WA to Karrajiini National Park up North. Just two weeks of open road, dirt, sun, good times and sailors stew (not even kidding that stuff is amazing!) If anyone has been to Karrajini national park in Western Australia, then you'll know how breathtakingly amazing it is! I recommend anyone who is visiting WA to go at least once. You will not regret it. Its best to go with a group of close mates, a bunch of people to have a good laugh with and talk banter with at all hours. I ain't even joking here, seriously do it! No regrets.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you happen upon me in your travels, or even when I'm travelling, I can give you a good insight into Aussie culture. Whether its the drinking culture, the good travel locations or even the way we talk (its fast for a lot of people I have noticed. Maybe thats just me?) I can guarantee you won't be bored.

I can also teach you about comic book history and actually use my knowledge of being a swimming instructor to help you swim better. This may be a long shot...but hey! Why the hell not!?

Something I live by as part of me sharing: "Banter is the bread of life, and goon is the blood" ancient Aussie proverb 4:20 :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with hosts a unique experience with an Aussie just wanting to meet new peopl and have an enjoyable and memorable time. If you ever meet me know that I will do my absolute best to make you feel at home and welcome, and the same goes if I am travelling too. I will try my best to honour customs use appropriate language and be gentleman like my entire stay.

I hope I can meet many new people out there. I might not always be travelling. But if I am, make sure to hit me up!
