ABOUT ME

I am living in Rio de Janeiro doing a research project on the role of brass brands in carnival, social movements and protests. I am also taking the opportunity to travel in Latin America while I am in Brazil.

PHILOSOPHY

Aporia-it's tattooed on my arm. Essentially a concept based in the Platonic dialogues that means (for me) that awareness of the limits of human knowledge is the foundation of the potential for human wisdom.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I biked in the summer of 2010 from Portland, OR to Boulder, CO and was a recipient of much hospitality from couchsurfing, warm showers and random people.

Why one? Music tours in Brazil, Japan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Prague. Biked from Portland to Boulder and Portland to Santa Barbara. Taught at a French-immersion preschool. Traveled in India (studied music, hiked in Himalayas). Lived in Paris. Unschooled myself.
