About Me

Connect, see, share, connect.

I'm in a period of my life where I work seasonally and travel the rest of the year. I am from NY originally, but now have several other places that feel like another home. Most recently I've been working in Alaska, and I am now taking a trip to Colombia to balance out cold rain with warm sun and to improve on my goal to become fluent in Spanish. I'm not allowed to die until I complete that, so its something I strive to improve on in all my travels.

To do as many diverse and meaningful things as possible so that I can tell fun and exciting stories if I get to become an old man.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I really like meeting people. Especially the interesting ones. I provide when I can, and when I can't I at least try to help out by giving advice.

I have hosted while living in Alaska, and I have surfed in Argentina, Nicaragua, Spain, France, Mexico, Ireland, and the United States. I am hoping to gain more of this experience during my trip to Colombia.

People, music, adventure, laughing, eating, running, exercising, playing frisbee, learning, loving, living, dieing, experiencing new things out of my comfort zone.

Music, Movies & Books

My ears are wide open to all sorts of music, and I do make music myself with recording equipment in my parents' basement. Tuesdays with Morrie is my favorite book. Favorite movies are varied, but some of the classics are Princess Bride, Labyrinth, and Forrest Gump.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I hiked the Appalachian trail in 2009. It is a dirt path that stretches for about 2200 miles (3500+ km) in the United States. I think when anyone gives themselves that much alone time they come away from it with a new understanding of who they are and who they want to be. Yeah.

Teach, Learn, Share

A wise man once told me the reason we like dogs so much is because they are not afraid to approach a stranger, sniff them, wag their tail, and maybe even lick them. Since I've heard that, I have tried to live more like a dog. I think the world would be a lot friendlier if we all acted like dogs. So please, go sniff a stranger.
