ABOUT ME

I'm tryin' to make it as a journalist in this day & age. Doing so takes me from city to city, from country to country, and I'm out here exploring and discovering the joys of living wherever it is I happen to find myself.

I move around a lot, but I'm originally from Kent, Washington, a bedroom community south of Seattle.

PHILOSOPHY

What is your personal philosophy? Why do you live your life? Feelings? Thoughts?

These are tough questions.

My personal philosophy is that life is made up of experiences rather than memories. I know I cannot possibly remember everything so living life well is accruing those indelible memories through great experiences.

That said, I also believe life should be lived with the premise that people should always be working for self-improvement, always aspiring to be better, nicer, more content.

I think about this sometimes: "My dreams have been right. It was life and reality that were wrong."

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ah, so I was more active on Couchsurfing in 2008, when I created this thing. I met someone in Seattle, my hometown, for coffee once ... and then I jetted off to Korea and Kenya and Nevada and oh so my places and this little account fell by the wayside.

I'd love to learn more Korean language and learn to cook some nice meals. Generally, I like to learn anything hands-on.

As for teaching? I'm a writer and photographer. Journalism, anyone? Editing?
