About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn about myself by learning about others. To climb any mountain I can get my hands on. To bring financial/emotional wellness to the founders and entrepreneurs of the world.
ABOUT ME / US
I (Andrew) am a business student turned biology student turned bioengineer turned entrepreneur! If you catch me at the right moment, I may be an entrepreneur, a mountaineer, a bicyclist, a designer, a skier, a yogi, or one of a lot of other things! In everything I do, there is a common thread- I love learning, and I hope I can continue to learn things all my life! This is one of the things that most draws me to couchsurfing- I love to hear peoples’ stories. I am laid-back, relentlessly optimistic, introspective, friendly, and love good conversation. I like listening more than talking.
I live with my amazing, beautiful girlfriend Rachel, who has worked for the last five years as an oncology nurse and decided to completely change her career path and is starting graduate school next fall for nutrition and dietetics. Her mission is to help empower other people be the version of healthy they want to be in order to pursue a life they love. She loves skiing, rock n roll, bluegrass, P.T. Anderson movies, being an aunt to her brother's cat, Wayne, cooking delicious food that makes you feel good, and talking about philosophy, politics, religion, and sustainability.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Host, tour guide, occasional cook and barista for other couchsurfers, as well as couchsurfers ourselves! We love the place we live, especially the outdoors (wilderness is only 20 minutes away!), and we love to show people around no matter what they are into. People are always surprised at how much Salt Lake City has to offer, and we think through CS, we’ve learned even more about our own hometown and appreciate it more.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have hosted many couchsurfers from other countries and other areas of the US, and have enjoyed every one of them, and are returning to CS after a bit of a break. We are relatively newbie travelers, but are getting out more and more. There is so much to see, and we know we've only scratched the surface. I’ve already learned so much about other parts of the world, and can’t wait to learn more.
Interests
We love weird movies, and long discussions about culture, philosophy, social stigmas, books, movies, food, beer, coffee, human nature, life goals, education, technology, travel, or anything else! We have the most fun sitting around a table with good people, good food, and good drinks.
Our goals in life are to have amazing conversations, explore nature, and work on great things with great people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I set up a clinical trial for a Tuberculosis diagnostic test at 5 rural clinics in Mumbai and Navi-Mumbai, India. It was intense, colorful, and I've never seen the world the same since.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love more than anything collaborating on cooking a meal. I am okay at cooking, but I hope to learn cooking, especially learning about how preparing food is different in different cultures. I would love to take you climbing or hiking in non-winter months!
Countries I’ve Visited
France, India, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Thailand
