About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Right now, my only objective is to go to Europe and travel from place to place until I hit Italy whic has been my dream to go to since as long as I can remember.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Canada, I'm a half Japanese/ half Canadian who enjoys pretty much anything. It's my ambition to travel independently in Europe / all over the world one day and learn new things along the way.
I can swim and snowboard, but I really want to learn surfing scuba and sailing, as well as kayaking which I have tried (and loved) yet never ad lessons for.
Most importantly is that I am a student who has a part time job, and before I graduate and get a fulltime career and settle down, I want to see what is out there first-hand.
I have read there is no better way to do this than backpacking and staying in hostels or couchsurfing, so I'm putting myself out there and hoping for the best! ;]

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy shifts all the time, I don't necessarily have a set philosophy, there are so many point of view on life it would be impossible to pinpoint the most outstanding one.
But to the best of my ability, I want to die knowing I did what I have always wanted to do, with no regrets and knowing that I have accomplished something worthwhile.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first time couchsurfing, I'm not 100% sure what to expect from it, but I am a fairly engageable person and can live under (almost) any circumstance.
I have been to Japan a fair few times staying with relatives, this sums up the experience I have couchsurfing overall, and I have to say I got to know them well and we shared some fun experiences together!

Interests

Any extra-curricular activity
I'm decently active and always looking for new types of sports or challenges to engage myself.
I love swimming, snowboarding, kayaking/canoeing, snorkeling, hiking, biking (although uphill I'm very slow), painting and travelling!
I admit I am particularly afraid of heights, but I am for some reason I can not explain I'm intrigued by rockclimbing and bungee jumping.

Music, Movies, and Books

Harry Potter, Hands down.(the books rather than the movies although I also enjoy those)
Pan's Labrynth was a great movie to me
Marley and Me
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind

As for music, I find almost almost anything satisfies me, except for too much country music and heavy metal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Japan for a month alone after working for months on my first job when I was 13/14, I still consider this an accomplishment and it inspired me to move on to bigger places as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

When it comes to teaching I would typically say I teach people of all ages how to swim for a living, and that's what I have to offer. I consider this an extremely practical skill for anyone who doesn't know how, or would like to improve and it is something that I am passionate about as well.
As for things I want to learn? Over the course of this trip the main things I'm interested in are independence and my ability to conquer new endeavors
