About Me
I do community outreach for Just Roots (justroots.org), a nonprofit in western Massachusetts that increases local food access. I live in an historic building — formerly the town farm home or 'poor house' — next to the Greenfield Community Farm which Just Roots has recently established on 60 acres of town land.
I'm in a relationship with Mona who lives nearby. My children, a son and a daughter, are in college and off to a great start in life. Sparky, a rescue dog from Texas, is my canine companion.
The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) is a big part of my life. I attend Mount Toby Friends Meeting (mounttobyfriends.org) in Leverett, Mass.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, my son told me about it. We're planning a two-week trek together in Argentina at the end of his five months of study abroad. It looks like a great way to travel economically and to meet people.
I'm also interested in hosting people where I live. The Pioneer Valley of western Mass has much to offer: natural beauty, resilient local agriculture, a great art scene, and a thriving contra dance community right here in Greenfield (guidingstargrange.org/events).
