About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get rich, see the world, meet fascinating people

ABOUT ME

I am a fun, easy going guy. Very analytical, probably a little nerdy.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short to spend any significant amount of time doing things you don't love with people who aren't amazing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travel a lot, so mostly I'm interested in meeting people in the places that I'm going and getting ideas for things to do or meeting up for a drink or something. If it works out to crash on their couch for a night or two that's great too, but usually I just stay in hotels.

I have a 26th floor condo in downtown Austin, Texas, with pretty sick views of downtown and Ladybird Lake. I'm not here all that much, but when I am in town I'd be happy to have someone stay on my couch or blowup mattress!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I studied abroad in college in Paderno del Grappa, Italy. I was 19 and traveled there on my own, and didn't know how the trains worked or anything. Due to a train strike I didn't get from the Venice airport to Paderno until after midnight, and the buses weren't running from the train station to the campus. Luckily, a French-Algerian immigrant worker named Pipo had befriended me on the train, without speaking any English, and offered to have me spend the night at his house. I was pretty nervous, but it turned out awesome. One of his roommates spoke English, and we all stayed up half the night watching World Cup soccer and eating pizza with tuna on it or something. Definitely my best couch surfing experience, but there was a moment in the car ride to his house where I thought maybe I was going to be robbed and killed. C'est la vie!

Interests

I love playing sports, like basketball, volleyball, tennis, football, etc. I love traveling and I especially like meeting new people and learning about other places and cultures, I ask a lot of questions and like to figure out what makes people tick and what they think about the places their from or where they've been. I like to go out to eat and hit the bars on the weekends, in fact I'm opening a bar here in Austin in March 2012. And of course I work hard during the week to facilitate these interests
