About Me
Hello friend I haven't met yet!
**PLEASE READ ALL OF MY PROFILE!**
I'm Andy 🙏🏻
Welcome to my profile
Let me start by saying I get soooo many messages on here and that if I don't reply to you it's nothing personal I'm just very distracted and unorganised with messages and I sometimes occasionally miss some! That being said I'm making a new resolution to be much better at this so hopefully you will benefit from this!
**I offer a cosy and safe space for people wanting to hang out and maybe explore the city**
*I believe CS should be kept pure and offer a safe space for solo female travellers with no ulterior motives!*
When I host people I want to actually hang out with these people and get to know them and actually spend time with them. I want to talk to you and get to know you and what you believ in. Therefore unfortunately I won't be an easy option if I'm not feeling up to it or if your simply wanting a place to crash for the night. I mean there are hostels for if you want to go out drinking and staying out late and also I think I need to get something out of it too right?! 🤷🏻
That being said, if I am hosting you, I will try to be as hospitable as possible, this could include cooking for you, or maybe even having a drink and sharing my whisky! I consider myself well knowledge on all kinds of places in Scotland and would be happy to give some good recommendations.
Factors that will make me consider hosting you:
**That you write a long message explaining why exactly you want me to be your host and not somebody else**
**If you have hosted someone before this is a great plus**
**I don't usually care about if you have references or not, references are a bonus but everybody has to start somewhere. I am far more likely to judge you on you first message than your references**
Some important stuff...
**I can't guarantee that you will get super fresh sheets on the bed when you stay, I try to change them every week or so of actually sleeping, but if I have 3 sets of guests each staying 2 nights I will keep the same ones on. Im lucky I can actually give a bed and not just park you on the sofa, but I'm very busy and I can't be a hotel, hence why I'm not on Airbnb making loads of money with the room!!**
**I will do my best to keep the bathroom clean, but if I missed something or you need more toilet paper please say as this will help me!**
**Let's talk first if you want to use the kitchen as my fire alarm can be very sensitive and there's a few things to help**
**Feels free to leave anything you like in the fridge**
**It will be easy for you to come and go even if I will be at work, you won't have to be outside all day, I mean it rains here in Scotland!!**
LASTLY (But also very important....!)... I always appreciate a bi-directional relationship with hosting, if I host you for a few nights and pour my heart into a meal for you, then a bottle of wine with the meal for example would be appreciated:) things like that go a long a way and imo should maybe be considered more often by couchsurfers. Unfortunately I have had experiences where I have hosted people for nearly a week using my shower and my kitchen and not even s ingle gift to say thank you :( these things make me feel im getting taken advantage of a bit
I myself have travelled to 43 countries and would consider myself big on adventure and the outdoors. I hope to use couchsurfing to build a network of lovely people all around the world and build my profile so that I can use it abroad when the time comes for myself again to travel!
I work full time as a support worker for autistic adults. I love my job and I'm very happy doing it, though it can come with its challenges.
In my spare time I try be the healthy and going to the gym and sauna etc or can be found on my computer writing my own electronic music, something I have been doing for 10 years now!! I like to think that the music I make us a reflection of the mountain scenery I have seen over my life!
I also really value meditation and properly listening to beautiful music, all these things really enrich my soul 💜
I think this should be enough for part 👊🏻

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So... Why am I here on couchsurfing???
I'm hoping to use this platform to host people from all over the world and to share my life with strangers for some days!
I value the trust based aspect of CS a alot and it means a great deal to me and how i see the world. I believe CS should be an exchange and not just a free place for people to stay. Unfortunately i have been treated like a free hostel in the past with little thought as to how they could give back to the host. I'm trying to be more selective these days.
