About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To not take life too seriously, or I'll never get out alive!

ABOUT ME

"The unexamined life is not worth living"
-Socrates
I have examined my life a lot, but I still need to examine the world! I am all about getting out and meeting new people. Any given night you'll find me downtown at the cafes or at a party doing just that! I am very amenable, but not gullible. I am all about helping others because I believe there are enough good people that it will be payed forward and come back to me! Good films, good books, good food, and good people are the only things in this world with any value to me. Oh and my Xbox. I really like my Xbox. I was rasied in restuarnts all my life and learned how to cook from my father, a chef, so expect to have some excellent food cooked up for you should we cross paths!

FULL DISCLOSURE: I smoke and I drink. I hope that isn't a problem. But should it be all habits can be kicked for a brief period.

PHILOSOPHY

I speak in cliches. But cliches are only cliche because they're true! I am all about living an honest life and looking at our world with a critical and skeptical mind. I am also all about everyone being their on individual. No person should ever subject to the will of others unless their actions are of a harmful nature.

"I think we ought always to entertain our opinions with some measure of doubt. I shouldn't wish people dogmatically to believe any philosophy, not even mine."
-Bertrand Russell

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I wont be doing much travel outside the US for awhile yet, but I am going to go see my country and it's people as much as I can before grad school. I am completely open to having people stay at my place. I live with 3 other poor college students. They're all musicians and I have the rare talent of spectating. We'd love to host you for awhile or just a night if you're passing through!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

total newbie. However, I am really looking forward to having some adventures!

Music, Movies, and Books

Film- Just about anything Orson Welles and Alfred Hitchcock. And some Kubrick.
Books- The historical classics: Cicero, Caesar, Herodotus, Livy, Socrates, Aristotle. Fanasty novels are also great: The Black Company by Glen Cook, A song of Fire and Ice by George Martin, and of course the LOTR saga.
Music- Classic Rock: Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Pink Floyd. The Blues: Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Little Walter, Townes Van Zandt. Modern stuff: Queens of the stoneage, Phoenix, Ratatat, The Black keys, black rebel motorcycle club, the black angels (a lot of black i know).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen the birth of Bald Eagles. Drove non stop down to the Stewart/Colbert Rally in DC. Helped clean up my town after a devastating flood. Marched with workers to support their rights in Madison WI. It's all about the experience and the adventure. Go have one or ten!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a critical thinker. I have studied a lot of the great thinkers and the scientific minds. I am all about debate and intellectual argument. Come and strengthen your mind with some lively debate! Leave your bias and prejudices and the door and bring only your wit and an open mind!
