About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to be in love with my life

ABOUT ME

I've spent the past year volunteering and living on farms, smallholdings and communities in the UK. It has been the most amazing experience of my life, and I've never been so positive or hopeful.
The thing that is most important to me about staying anywhere is the people I meet. I like my fingers muddy with conversation. So often the creations of people - buildings, human history etc - fail to impress me as much as the natural world, geological timescales and what people are doing right now. Now is greater than the whole of the past.

PHILOSOPHY

Like so many people I've met, my overriding philosophy is: be excellent to each other and party on, dudes.

And they say films are a bad influence on children!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have only just joined CS but I have followed its principles for a long time now. When I had my own little flat I had many guests stay from all over Europe.
I always stay honest. Everything falls apart if anyone breaks that rule.
I take what I am offered and work on the principle that most people offer exactly as much as they want to give, so I do not ask for more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to the project, but I have stayed on many a couch throughout this land. I travel with the tiniest tent in the world so I can stay anywhere. I've lived on sofas, in spare rooms and in fields with families, individuals and huge groups of people. It's the only way to live!

Music, Movies, and Books

Have to admit a weakness for sci-fi and comic book movies.

I'm just now exploring the folk side of alternative music. I listen to the words in songs.

I used to read a lot but I can't seem to sit still long enough these days! Last winter I slept in a bookshop in a barn. It's probably my favourite ever sleeping place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The street lights and the black expanses of parkland as the plane flew over my home town. I was leaving for Japan and had never flown before. It made me cry.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to improve my practical skills. Carpentry, plumbing, construction, mechanics. I learn much better by doing.

I can help you with creative writing. I've been to a lot of workshops and I've run a few of them myself. I like to set exercises and see what we come up with, I enjoy looking at our work and discussing what we can improve and why.
