ABOUT ME

It's hard to narrow down a person into a paragraph, but I'll give it a try... I'm 21 years young, a student at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. I love everything about it, but most importantly I love the people I've met here. I'm a biology major with aspirations of a career in the medical field, it's been a long road with plenty of tough decisions, and honestly I'm still not 100% sure what I want to be when I grow up. I still have a while to decide, right? Not really.

Here at OU, I've gotten involved with Habitat for Humanity and Alpha Phi Omega, the National co-ed service fraternity. Serving the community with my closest friends has really come to define my time at OU and I couldn't see myself in another position.

I'm a big fan of camping, fishing, biking, sports, and traveling. Growing up in rural Ohio has given me plenty of opportunities to get my outdoor activity fix. I'll talk to anyone, find any excuse to party, try anything once, and do it all again the next day.

Lastly, I try to dedicate every day to the greatest person I've ever known, my old man. Dad was killed in a motorcycle accident as a result of drunk driving the summer before my Senior year of high school, and not a day goes by that I don't think about him. Hey, if I can make my old man proud every day, I'll leave this world a happy man.

PHILOSOPHY

Never let things get the best of you. Never take your friends or family for granted. Never take things too seriously. Life is too short for that.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to the CS community, and I am anxious to give it a try. A couple friends and I decided to try to get involved while planning a trip to Chicago for a weekend. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we have a good experience, and I'll let you know how our first CS experience goes!

I appreciate any and all music. It's the universal language! My favorite movie is Jurassic Park. Guess it's just the kid in me. Books: Catch-22, The Kite Runner, The Three Musketeers, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and anything by Kurt Vonnegut.

Algo increíble que he hecho

As a member of Ohio University Habitat for Humanity, I have travelled on 4 week-long trips to Biloxi, Mississippi (twice), Miami, Florida, and Albany, Georgia to build houses for families affected by Hurricane Katrina. I have made some great friendships as a result, and it was life-changing to work with the families whose lives we were rebuilding.
