ABOUT ME

I was born in Cotuí, a small city in the north of the Dominican Republic, There I studied at high school and the Fine Arts School (Drawing and Composition).
In 2005 I moved to Santo Domingo in order to study architecture at university (Universidad Autónoma) and also took some courses related to interior design.

As time passed by I was realizing that the way I had to express myself was not only limited to drawing and design, and I started to become interested in the world of fashion. Actually, I had always been interested in it. Then my life took a different track.
In 2008, the editor of an important local magazine trusted in my abilities and I started to work as a fashion stylist for the magazine. Some years later I became the person in charge of the fashion pages.

Passionate of fashion and convinced that my life was, undoubtedly, behind the flashes and clothes, I transferred my knowledge about image, color and composition to my work as a fashion stylist.

Then I combined this task with some others I was entrusted (several magazines, commercials, etc.). One of these works was carried out for a worldwide known models agency, as a stylist of new faces portfolios and scout.
Later I had the opportunity to work with Nicole Miller on her collection presented in the Dominican Republic. Being able to collaborate with a worldwide known designer was a landmark in my working life.

Being aware that it was the way to follow, I moved to Madrid to study the Master Course on “Fashion Styling”, at the “Istituto Europeo di Design”, where I also had the opportunity to meet prominent professionals of the fashion world. The experience and knowledge I acquired made me notice the potential I possess and everything I can contribute with in this context.

I see fashion as an artistic and functional way of expression that identifies and distinguishes ourselves in relation to other people. That is why I project my way of thinking by means of a look, and this is how I explore and exploit my creativity. An image is much more than a simple image; it is what is shown behind it, what we want to say and what we want to get; what we like and what we don’t; fashion is a part of me and a part of everyone.
