About Me

I've lived in Metro Detroit almost my whole life. During high school I got the lucky chance to visit England with my British Literature class and I jumped on the opportunity. This was my first trip out of the country and what sparked this fire in me to never stop traveling. My Father took my brother and I all around the country when we were younger so this was a huge influence. After high school, I moved to southern California for a year to experience something different than the Midwest. Right now, I'm attending community college to finish up the general ed credits before I transfer to Wayne State University in hopefully a year. I'm going to major in Fashion Merchandising and this will give me the opportunity to keep traveling with my job. I love attending concerts so chances are if I want you to host me, I'm in the area for a concert! I'm learning German and plan to minor in it so if you speak German that would be awesome! I'm very open to trying new things whether that be things to do, things to see or food! I've been zip-lineing in Las Vegas, Skydiving for my 18th birthday in California and dancing the jig in Ireland. I love to listen to other people's adventures so I'd love to trade stories if you host me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, obviously! I'm a student looking to travel on a budget without having to give up schooling or give up doing the things I want to do. I was definitely not going away to college for four years and give up everything I still want to do! I'm so interested in the people I will meet through this website and I can't wait to get started! I'm so excited for all the possibilities of making new friends all around the world! I would love to host other people but I don't really know why anyone would want to visit my small town in Michigan, there isn't much to do. (Which is why I love leaving it as much as possible).

Interests

I love attending concerts! My first one was Brittney Spears when I was 6 years-old (don't judge me, I was 6) and it must have been life changing from what I can remember because I haven't been able to stop going since. I tried to make a list once of how many concerts I've been to but there is too many to count. I love fashion, which is why I will be majoring in Fashion Merchandising. I want to be a stylist possibly and make other people feel good on the inside and out. I recently started writing poetry and might be willing to share with you if you have a talent you can show me! I'm mediocre at cooking but I love to bake, so if you have a sweet tooth as big as mine you should surely host me. I also love to ride motorcycles! I even have one tattooed on my arm. Thrifting is another hobby of mine, my frequent travel partner Kristi, and I often go together.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I have a top 5 list that will remain in my heart for a solid few years I'd say. I love Catfish and The Bottlemen, The 1975, First Aid Kit, Rush and Foxy Shazam. A few other favorites are Temples, Swim Deep, Tame Impala, Sir Sly and Mac Demarco. There are too many brilliant movies to pick favorites , I can't even begin to make a list. However I have a select few TV shows that I enjoy: Criminal Minds, Doctor Who, The Mentalist and my guilty pleasure: Sex & The City. I'm also a sucker for all those wedding dress shows on TLC, I hate to admit it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went skydiving for my 18th birthday!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some minor cooking skills but the willingness to learn more. As I said before, I'm very open to trying new things and letting people show me what makes their city amazing! I'm very friendly as I've had friends from all different backgrounds my whole life. I'm also very clean, there is no need to worry if I'll leave a mess, I'll probably clean up after whoever I'm traveling with too. I will certainly take my host to dinner or maybe make them dinner to thank them for the time they have given me.
