I am a painter currently travelling and finding inspiration everywhere I go.

I love the outdoors since I was fortunate enough to grow up surrounded by mountains in New Zealand.

I also love to dance - the dance floor is my second home - no matter how far I go, as long as there is a social dance event, I will not feel too homesick.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling, hiking, painting and dancing around Europe! I am trying to break out of my routine and get out of my comfort zone - connecting with people who share the same interests or are more or less on the same boat makes the leap seem not as scary! Outside of the dance floor, I personally find it more daunting initiating interaction with strangers so I appreciate that this incentive is created for people who share the love for travel so there’s at least 1 thing we can bond over.

I do Latin partner dances so I listen to various types of latin music

My favourite genres are afrobeats, zouk, kompa, RnB, soul

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was volunteering as an English assistant at a bilingual primary school in Spain - it was my gateway to me eventually taking Linguistics in University

I also represented my region in a national journalism competition for schools in the Sports Writing category with little to no prior experience in journalism

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a creative and I love learning languages. Linguistics is my major in university and I did a stint of English language teaching beforehand. My goal is to have learnt 10 languages before I turn 30 so 2 more to go I reckon! I especially enjoy meeting fellow linguistic nerds and picking their brains out!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have small moleskine sketchbooks for Europe and Asia painted in watercolour and gouache - they are my most treasured possessions.

When I travel and I paint the memory, I share a print with those who I've experienced the moment. I can give you a print of a travel memory, even if we haven't travelled together, as token of my gratitude 🎨🖼️
