About Me
Hello! I'm Angela from Florida, USA. I have made the decision to take a hiatus from my life in the US and roam for a while. In my natural habitat I can be seen with earphones in scribbling in my journal. Music is my soul. I spend a borderline obsessive amount of time listening to it and I am always searching for more to add to my library. I have been singing for as long as I can remember and have recently began to learn the ukulele. Journaling and jotting down random thoughts is part of my everyday life, and most of the time I like to organize them into poems or short stories. Music and writing are my favorite forms of expression, but I also love to read. Reading for imagination and writing inspiration purposes as well as reading to learn. I was an Anthropology major in college partly because I had a hard time picking a career path, but mainly because I am curious about people. I am extremely interested in different cultures of the world and the different perspectives people have based on how they have lived their lives. I am always eager to learn more about different points of view and different life experiences. I believe in the good in people. I have an irrational love for spicy food and coffee. I am a vegetarian and have taken up a love for cooking, though I consider myself a beginner still. I was a bartender for years so I have been conditioned to enjoy a good beer, wine, or anything of the sort really. I love being silly and having a good laugh. I'm looking forward to roaming around getting to know myself and others on a deeper level than I've ever gotten to do and having new experiences!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am new to this experience but I believe while traveling this is a special way to get to know and learn from the open minded individuals that are from the countries I am visiting. I love the idea of being a part of someone else's life even just for a little bit, you really see what life is like in the different places you travel.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music- I keep an open mind with music and I am always looking to expand my music knowledge. I love a variety of music. I mainly find myself listening to indie/folk music. Long lists of artist I love in that genre. I have also really been getting into a lot of electronica music along the style of Chet Faker, The xx, and Glass Animals. I love jazzy oldies as well as classic rock. Soulful music as well as contemporary rock/reggae and classical. I have playlists on Spotify that I am always adding to.
Movies- Psychological thrillers, quirky movies, comedies, documentaries, the occasional drama.
Books- I read novels based on the descriptive writing/ intellectually intriguing stories and characters. A few favorites are The Alchemist, The Goldfinch, The Rosie Project, and the Song of Ice and Fire series that I started. I am interested in psychology so I have read and am in the process of reading books by Oliver Sacks and Irvin Yalom. I have also read Social Animal and Quiet and am going to be exploring more books similar to that. I also enjoy books on different cultures and histories of the world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have spent 5 months living and sailing on a boat through the Caribbean from Florida.
Teach, Learn, Share
One of my favorite things to do when I meet people is share music tastes and artists, I love expanding my music library with music connected to specific memories/people. I would also love to share and learn about different authors and books and experiences. I have taken up cooking recently and could definitely offer to cook a meal. Mainly just sharing good times and talks!
I believe I can learn something from everybody I meet and am looking forward to doing so. Whatever you believe is worth sharing and teaching I openly accept.
