About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Try to take over the world... or sleep and eat cookies all day

ABOUT ME

Honestly, I'm a rather strange individual. Upon meeting me, people have experienced mixed side effects; including dizziness, drunkeness, euphoria, confusion, increased awareness of chromatography and the occasional dysphoric hangovers.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything revolves around randomness. I also think we all need an oddball in the mix every so often to keep things interesting. I'm that oddball.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm here to better understand the world I live in and meet new people. I'm hoping to travel one day and check out all these metal festivals I keep hearing about through the Metal group, but for now I'm staying in NYC. But I'm alwats up for making new friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't "couchsurfed" yet through this method, but I have done it on a tour with a choir a few years ago. It was alot of fun meeting new people and I made some cool friends that way that I most likely wouldn't have known otherwise. I did manage to meet a friend and couchsurf when I went to the American Idol auditions in Boston in 2005. I don't recommend auditioning fo rthem, but I made soooo many friends that camped out with me on the line.

Interests

My two loves in life are music and science.

Check out my band, Flames of Fury on myspace.com/theflamesoffury if you're curious.

I love to sing and I also like to play 9 ball at the billiards. I'm constantly going to shows for local bands and the occasional goth club. I firmly believe in supporting underground rock and metal of all kinds, as these seem to by dying genres of live music in New York City and the United States as a whole. I can't say I'm much of a sports fan, but I'm definitely a UFC/Pride fan and an overall fan of Mixed Martial Arts as well as more traditional styles. And I love cookies!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I like most DC/Marvel movies, some Adam Sandler movies, documentaries, and (yes I admit it) animated Disney movies.

Music: Metal! Old School metal, power metal, symphonic metal, death metal, industrial metal, scandanavian black metal, you name it! Just no emo/screamo metal.

Also included are classic rock, classical music (Midieval and Baroque pieces are cool along with a few Operas and choral works. I do however like piano works during the romaniticism era as well.), some Broadway and jazz standards, and whatever else sounds good to me.

Books: I like some classic books - I'm the type of person that takes an English class for kicks and giggles. For some reason, I can relate to Don Quixote, but my reading material more recently revolves around work being done on superstring theory and a whole bunch of science textbooks. That and the collection of sci-fi books I've been developing more recently. and I've been writing more songs and poetry now that I've joined a band. The music inspires me and my lyrics inspire the music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing? My friends insist that the publishing of the research I worked on with my professor over the past summer is amazing. Or that I had the guts to audition for American Idol twice. I thought both were fun.

I occasionally forsee my own future without realising it, but so far that hasn't done me much good. Oh, I lost my wallet in NY twice and got it back in really weird ways. I'm apparently very lucky.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can ramble on and on about chromatography if you want. if not (most likely), while I am not fantastic at pool, I can show someone how to do a few easy shots. And I like talking about toxicology. I can show you where some of the hotspots are for local bands and goth clubs and even some places to avoid in NYC.

Learn: Well, travelling is a learning experinece in and of itself. But otherwise, I wouldn't mind learning how to juggle or whatever else other people are willing to teach me. But most of all, anyone that is willing to open my mind to a new style of music is awesome in my book.

Share: My band, which is currently looking for a second guitarist and bassist
