ABOUT ME

I grew up in Montana, a beautiful state nestled in the Rockies. Ten years ago I found my way East where I've made a second home. If I were an NGO, my mission statement would be to help people meet their basic human needs in a sustainable way. Now I know 'sustainable' is a buzzword at this point and means several different things, or nothing at all, depending on whom you consult, but I stand by it all the same. I love meeting new people, especially when you feel as though you've known each other all along. I'm curious about more things than not. Life IS good.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is constantly shifting and settling at the same time. Instead of trying to boil it down to a snap ending, here's a great quote that hints at one of my threads of thought:
Eternity isn't some later time. Eternity isn't even a long time. Eternity has nothing to do with time. Eternity is that dimension of here and now that all thinking in temporal ters cuts off. And if you don't get it here, you won't get it anywhere. The problem with heaven is that you will be having such a good time, you won't even think of eternity. You'll just have this unending delight in the beatific vision of God. But the experience of eternity right here and now, in all things, whether thought of as good or as evil, is the function of life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed in Amsterdam with two lovely people who will always remain in my heart as such wonderful hosts and inspirations to living life to its fullest. May everyone on this network be as wonderful as them! I've also hosted at my old house in New Haven. Then I made an epic tour through Mexico and couch surfing took on a whole new meaning. All of you, thank you, and come visit. That was true wonder.
