About Me

I'd like to help people feel more connected to one another, and to the world. That sounds really big, but it can happen in really tiny moments.

I'm a writer, reader, wanderer, movie lover, librarian, dreamer.

I'm fascinated by dreams and dreaming, and have been super into Jungian psychology recently. I try to meditate every day. I'm open minded and curious about almost everything. I love using the word dude. And y'all. My favourite way to explore a new place is through its food.

I'm a community librarian with a public library, and most people are surprised to find out that my job looks nothing like what they would expect a librarian to be doing. You won't find me behind a desk (you won't even find me in a library most of the time); you will find me out in my city, making new connections, organizing events (I host and organize our local PechaKucha nights), and trying to contribute to building an awesome community.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So far I'm hoping to surf some couches, but I would really love to host eventually. I currently live with a roommate and am not able to share the space in the way I'd like to. I am more than happy to meet up and show people around Toronto when they're in town, though!

I haven't, yet! This is the beginning of my explorations of couchsurfing, but I'm hoping to make some great connections around the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 11 days in silence in a meditation retreat, which was (shockingly) not as hard as I was afraid it might be.

Teach, Learn, Share

Things I can share: dreamwork - how to learn to pay attention to dreams, lucid dream, try to learn from them when you wake up in the morning. Mindfulness meditation. How to make amazing green smoothies (lemon).

Things I'd like to learn: more about all of the above; how to write a screenplay; where to find the best cheap eats in your city.
