About Me

I am interested in more things than I can list. Music (playing or going to shows) caring for my special needs cats, who are my kids, writing of all sorts, traveling, and meeting new people are in my top 5 favorites.

I'm easy to get a long with, and for some reason a lot of people have fun teasing me...I like a fair amount of silliness in my life to balance out the serious issues I work with.

I'm going through a transitional phase which has forced me to leave the SF Bay Area and stay in Barstow, CA--where almost nobody on the coast has heard of. I'm trying to get back on my feet and move to the LA area, so I'm looking for jobs--going to interviews and temp jobs requires some overnight stays, and I'm on a super tight budget. But I'm looking forward to getting settled and playing music again!

Music, Movies, and Books

I was raised playing Classical piano, and eventually started playing bass guitar. I was considered a metal-head in high school, and eventually branched out through the "Grunge", Goth, and Industrial. I love most music, and I can usually find things to appreciate in any genre.

I love movies of all kinds--except the Pixar ones give me a headache.

I've loved books since I was a baby. I focused mostly on British Victorian Era Lit and 19th century poetry for my English degree. I enjoy reading almost anything from philosophy to fiction and graphic novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have driven to different states to adopt special needs cats. My paraplegic guy, Poe, was adopted from Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, UT. Because of his extra special needs, he was a frequent flyer around the country. Unfortunately, he died last year, at a young 13 years of age and unexpectedly. But this is part of the risk with adopting special needs kids.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love doing all three of these things.
