ABOUT ME

By the time I was 8 we had lived in 5 states from north to south in the U.S. The last state we moved to was Texas, and there we remained. But I caught the travel bug and traveled and moved to many states after high school, which eventually led to me going international. I love to travel and am a "new experience junkie".
In between all this travel I worked as a journalist for newspapers and magazines while earning my degrees: Journalism, Psychology & TEFL certificate.
I have been teaching English as a foreign language since 2006. I am currently trying to decide "what next" so I can do a master's...in what and where...I've not yet had that epiphany! However I am eager to become fluent in German just as soon as possible!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is mostly difficult so we must strive to not only make it less so - for ourselves and for others - but also cultivate joy in the small, simple moments. At my best, I think of life as my giant playground.

As a writer, I enjoy writing and reading. I also like painting and sculpture. But these are my private activities. I love meeting new people and having discussions - whether they are deep and serious or random nonsense! I love doing things in nature like hiking, camping, boating, playing sports, picnics and so on. Of course, I love travel! I also enjoy music, dancing, clubs / pubs / bars, playing billiards and other games, playing video games (I do NOT like computer / online gaming). My passions include history, philosophy, psychology. I do not like math, haha. Ich mach spaß!

Movies rarely leave an impression on me. I prefer books. Some of my favorite authors are: Terry Pratchett, Haruki Murakami, Franz Kakfa, Herman Hesse, Chuck Palahnuik, Irvine Welsh, Kurt Vonnegut, Hunter S. Thompson, Tom Robbins, William S. Burroughs and Charles Bukowski.

Most things we waste our time worrying about are silly and a waste of our precious time. We only have one life and we should all LIVE it! Who cares what other people think? How much time is wasted from fear? What sense is it to pretend you don't have feelings as they arise and wait until "later" to "deal" with them...especially when "later" never comes! I believe in fully living in every moment and feeling it completely ;)
