ABOUT ME
Cycling is probably one of my favourite things. Cooking is a close second favourite, I've spent several years in kitchens and food cooperatives, cooking for vegans and vegetarians.
These days I spend most of my time staring at a computer part-time, working as a receptionist at a unique literary organisation which organises public talks about every topic under the sun.
I volunteer quite a lot of my time at my beloved community radio station, 3CR, co-hosting a breakfast radio show! Occasionally I get gigs life modeling for drawing classes.
I love foreign films, and ache to talk history, politics and essentially, people. Drawn to the Middle East. Into drinking tea & chatting but also a part-time introvert and like my space, am easily self-entertained & amused (promise not at your expense).
LOVE dancing, oh my god take me out, please!
PHILOSOPHY
Spontaneity.
Also, fierce believer in queer theory: http://www.sjsu.edu/faculty/harris/Eng101_QueerDef.pdf
Interests
...crushing on librarians without intending to, whipping up a meal out of scraps, playing with words, spontaneity, connecting metaphorical dots, dodging bullshit, shooting hoops, baking without a recipe, planting surprises on doorsteps and inside bike helmets, walking aimlessly situationist-stylez for milez, dipping naked into the ocean, sprouting ideas, seeing multiple sides of the pentagonal-shaped story.

Music, Movies, and Books
New wave cinema, especially Iranian & Romanian. Polanski. Any film that makes me think, smile, laugh, cringe from the sheer realism.
Graphic novels by Delisle, Sacco & Bechdel...
Currently reading fiction on AIDS in the 1980s, notably 'People in Trouble' by Sarah Schulman.
Love a diverse mix of tunes, these days mostly electronic & post-rock, but also like folk, indie rock and ambient. Love to play silent disco & dj for people i like in dimly lit stairways...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Touchdown through thick clouds into Cairo, whisked with my bicycle (ageela!, they call it) through the airport and out onto the street where a taxi beckons, i jump in, bike in tow, and off we go at what feels like a hundred and fifty kilometres an hour to Tahrir Square! A blur. Little do i know that in a month's time I'll be travelling through the Sinai at 180kms, no joke - desert plains, red sea, mountain tops. If this ain't travel, i don't know what is.
