I believe that I was born with the instinct “traveller”, a character mainly based on autonomy and curiosity, I am attracted by the unusual and new experiences allowing me to satisfy my thirst for discovery. Anecdote: when I was only 2 years old I took the initiative to visit my grandmother who lived another village located at about ten kilometres. I left alone my home with my tricycle. But my beautiful dream disappeared when my mother found me on the road, however I made 2 km.
Enjoy travelling has lived me all along my adult’ life. At first I travelled with my family of 3 children in camp-site mainly in France and Europe. Then I chose to travel as backpackers and stay in youth hostels or camp-site
Meeting with the foreigners I improved my personal mind in accepting the differences.
At school, I was particularly interested by the foreign languages: English and German whom I practise yet, mainly read and written. I can also express myself but understanding is a bit more difficult particularly at the beginning of the meeting and on the phone. For more than 10 years I regularly have communicated with several “penfriends” in England, Germany, Austria, Quebec, Michigan (USA). I visit them regularly. I am always very interested by sharing our experiences.
Professionally I made all my career as civil servant (in Town halls) in different places. I am now retired and travelling is my favourite activity as I am luckily in very good health. For me the most beautiful way of travelling is when I am in contact with the local people. It is the best mean to really discover a country and its culture.

I am at the same time dynamic and active but also I take moments of calm by practicing the mindfulness meditation, tai chi or IQ Kong…

I am on couch surfing because the philosophy of this site is particularly the discovery of new horizons, the respect of each one and share. It is exactly my philosophy because we have always something to learn from the others.
I will be able to travel but also to accommodate in return.

Reading, writing (reports of travelling and slide shows), foreign languages (I have learned for 3 months in an institute in Germany in 2003. 5 months in Wall street Institute in Angers (France) in 2007. Correspondence with my European and American friends.
Each week I practise the following sports: Nordic walking, bicycle and dance online
I enjoy doing manual work: seaming, knitting, patchwork, manufacturing of object out of leather…
I like playing games with friends.
I enjoy discovering the history of the civilisations, all the wonders of the world: natural or made by the human beings.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

- 2 years of co-operation in Chad (Africa) from 1996 to 1998 as an administrative volunteer in a reception centre: accommodation, meals and seminars.

- Another experience: I made 3 tours in France alone with my bicycle in 1995, 2001 and 2008, that is to say 4500 km in all.

Theses both Human experiences were very enriching for knowing the others but also oneself.

In Chad, I used my weekly rest to teach the embroidery and knitting with the young girls of popular quarters of the town of Moundou (100,000 inhabitants). I learned also a lot from the population while taking part in their meetings or by sharing their meal sometimes…
