About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To somewhat boldly go where other people have been before, but this time I am!

ABOUT ME

Hi.

Hmm.

I am very keen on learning and love to know new things. I like starting new projects (sometimes I finish them too). I often write lists. I find it quite rewarding ticking things off so I will be writing a list of places I want to visit while travelling and hopefully ticking them off.

I love to eat and cook. Sometimes I bake. I can be somewhat picky but I am really trying to work on that. Having to overcome dislike of onions and seafood currently. Doing quite well with seafood as I have decided I like white fish and crab, not so into mussels I have discovered and still not so sure about salmon.

I am very animal orientated. At home I have three burmese (two might be Tonkinese) cats and I love dogs and rabbits and birds and maybe even fish, although they are less cuddly.

I love to read and have a not so guilty pleasure of reading fantasy books. Sucked into so many series.

I like old things and will always go into antique stores. So I will be spending a great deal of time in museums and historic houses while I am travelling. I also learnt Latin for four years so I have to spend time at any Roman ruin I can find.

Sometimes I can be quiet but I do like socialising and meeting new people. It just takes a bit longer for me to feel comfortable. Couchsurfing hopefully will make me more confident with meeting new people and striking up conversations.

PHILOSOPHY

To try to learn as much as possible and to reflect. To do things I haven't done before.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't yet so I will let you know how I have, when I have.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No experience yet but I am keen to try out when I start travelling in March and will be happy to host when I am back home and settled in 2012.

Interests

I think I covered some of this in the about me section.

So I like eating, drinking, some sporty activities, yoga, walking, reading, watching movies/tv, playing board games or any games, shopping, cooking, entertaining, having parties, going to parties, playing with animals, meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like drum and bass. I also like lots of other things and my last album that I bought was the sound track to 500 days of Summer.

Fantasy novel reader nerd but also lots of other things.

I like movies. Last thing I saw was Lovely Bones, it made me cry. Off to see Avatar soon in 3D, new experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Aerobatics. Pretty scary.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I can cook sometimes. Or bake. There is always hokey pokey.

I probably have random tidbits that I have stored in my brain from university still so things like linguistics and anthropology and museum things I can share on.

I can impart information about New Zealand as I have lived here all my life, not much about sport though.

I would like to learn more languages or just do better at the ones I started to learn. I have beginner German and Spanish.
