About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Stop to breathe in the fresh air and take in each moment as if we lived in slow-motion.

ABOUT ME

I consider myself an artist (my main practice is in platinum/palladium film photography) and a scientist (evolutionary and population genetics). A recent university graduate in line to join the PhDs of America, I spent a gap year in Paris trying to decompress and remember what it feels like to live before putting myself back on the conveyor belt.

I love to try new things. I love to hear about and share life experiences. I love cinema, I love music, I love taking things as they come, I love discovering new places by bike, I love cooking, and I especially love eating, I love company, I love friendship, I love art, I love science, I love gardening, I love to live travel like a local.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered in Ishinomaki, Japan after the tsunami of 2012 to help clear debris and rebuild the community in the aftermath. We lived in a house with a group of volunteers (local and foreigners alike) all together. It was an amazing experience, and we met a lot of great people and made a lot of friendships over the course of our journey.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you: English, about my personal culture, how to make apple pie (or french toast, or Thanksgiving turkey, or white rice on the stove), a little bit about Chinese, Japanese, French, Russian or Moroccan cuisine, how to start your green thumb garden, how to ride a bike, how to play the flute or piano, how to project celluloid (35mm or 16mm) film movies, darkroom photography, or oil painting

What I'd like to learn: anything (truly), ceramics and glazing, wool trades (such as making yarn or felting), how to appreciate a particular region's wine or cuisine, new recipes, everything (seriously)!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can cook a meal together if you'd like :)
