About Me
Hejho!
Thanks for reading my profile!
I´m Anja, I´m actually from Vienna, Austria, but I came to Essen, Germany, to study medicine and that´s where I´m living now!
I love traveling and now that I´m living in a new environment it´s one of my challenges to visit as many new cities surrounding Essen as possible.
I enjoy listening to music such as Jazz, Klezmer, Pop, Katie Melua, Regina Spektor and classical music and I do play music, though my guitar hasn´t found it´s way to Essen yet, it was too big to carry along, but there´s my clarinet in my room in case you can play it :)
I finally have a bike here in Essen and love to cycle around the lake here in Essen.
I do gymnastics several times a week and at the moment I try to go for a run in the morning before Uni, if you wanna join me you´re welcome!
My studies are quite intense at the moment and I have to be at Uni at 8am every day expect wednesdays (my free day :)) but I can show you some cool cafés and together we could discover new places in Essen.
And even if I´m busy then I can tell you some cool places to go.
See you soon!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Last year me and a friend threw a dart onto a world map (okay, we narrowed it down to Europe..) and it landed on Jelenia Gora, a small city in Poland and that´s where we decided to go in our holidays.
We ended up traveling through Poland and we met a lot of new people and most of the time we stayed at Air B´n´B people and we noticed that it´s just awesome to get to know a city while being in contact with locals!
And Couchsurfing is less of an effort than Air B´n´B :)
It´s a great opportunity to get to know new people and to really get to know the city and culture!

Music, Movies, and Books
It was very hard for me to choose the few books I could take along to Essen with me, I love to read books, I don´t really know which genre though (The little Prince, The Physician, Watership Down, Narnia, The peculiar Sadness of Lemoncake, The secret garden, Nothing and many more)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After succeeding in a very big exam last year I was so full of adrenaline and felt I could conquer the world that I took my Bucket List and said to myself I would do something of it right this day.
Well, I ended up in a tattoo shop and now I have a tea bag tattooed on my foot!
