Hey there,

I am a 25-year-old student from Germany who just moved to Xalapa recently in order to start my PhD here. I am fascinated by primates, enjoy the Latinamerican lifestyle, like good beer and love to travel.
Well what more to say... I like to challenge myself to get out of my comfy zone and see where it takes me, because it mostly leads to great memories and helps to develop my personality further. I guess that's kind of my life motto.

Interests

I love getting to know new cultures, making new experiences and learning languages. (At the moment I'm working on my Spanish a lot...) So basically everything you can do abroad.
Also I am passionate about nature and animals - I could listen for hours to stories of your dog or watch documentaries on some hidden tropical island where a new snake species was discovered recently. As a primatologist I'm particularly interested in apes and monkeys!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I really appreciate all the opportunities I was given throughout life so far, but here is one of my favourite memories.
For almost seven weeks in 2014 I was taking care of a group of 29 spider monkeys in the Bolivian rain forest. Participating in an animal protection program we used to feed the free living (but unable to find their own food) monkeys, clean a lot of shit and fight for various reasons.
I now know how to speak spider monkey language, have a scar on my left arm and love to search for fleas in other people's hair.
