BIKES, cycling and bikes some more. I am increasingly having a love affair with gardening and nature and am really pulled and inspired by deep ecology stuff. I love the politics of food and thus the history and culture. I love Motown music- and 80's funk and Ska. I am really into debating and sociology. Always keen for in-depth discussion whether it be about a current event, a book, political ideology, TV series etc. I am easy going, i don't tend to use maps, i love to cook big meals and play board games!! I LOVE puns and lame jokes (well any joke which isn't offensive towards a minority group... jokes which are offensive to a majority- bring it! haha)i love receiving\giving mix cds and tapes.
the weird thing that is happening right now for me though is that I CANNOT get this tom jones song out of head! seriously very bizarre. I went to the doctor cause it was becoming concerning and I asked her about it and she said "ahh tom jones syndrome..." i asked "is it common?" she said "it's not unusual" BA DOOM CHING
You are only ever one sandwich away from eating a sandwich! life advice #1!
Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals ... except the weasel.
ask forgiveness not permission
being nice is no great feat

Music, Movies, and Books
Just read the book CUNT- (read it... yes even if you dont have one). Bitch files which is short essays from Bitch magazine. Unfortunately a mag which is closing *sad* LOVED Fun Home by Alison Bechdel. Was really fantastic. Margaret Atwood- Wilderness Tips. Oh and written on the body by Jeaneete Winterson is fucking amazing! also like Bell Hooks and Audre Lorde and non fiction about world religions and academic essays mainly around imprisonment (prison industrial complex) and sexuality....
um i just finished watching forest gump and addams family values...? also like futurama and Black Adder. Last good film I saw was Palindromes- although it was pretty heavy. Also that movie You and Me and Everyone we know- very strange but I like the way the kids were represented.

Am revisitng Led Zep and blue grass tunes.
just read 'The Rent Tent' and 'Written on the body' both were fantastic.
I have been watching 30 rock and favourite tina fey moment is when she says she is against the wedding industrial complex! ha! brilliant on so many levels.
I am about to read Red Rosa and Hunger Makes me a Modern Girl. I am hoping to be re-inspired by books. It has been a while. Suggest some...??
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I learnt the entire Kate Bush dance to 'Wuthering Heights'.. yeah not that amazing, but it is really complex (read-hard!) and it was fun!
I don't so much have big one off goals like this so much- I have dreams of starting a housing co-op and working on land projects so my amazing things are maybe yet to come.
I consider myself to have a fairly reasonable grasp on my emotions, reactions, communication and my relationships, I don't just fall through the world unconsciously. Socially I think people are not so much encouraged to have these skills. So when I meet people who have figured some stuff out, see various levels and intersections of privilege and can see what is actually important- well I think this is amazing. To not accept so much bullshit and work towards things that are actually real. Amazing. Of course this is more than lifestyle choices... hmmm I sense myself going on a rant here. Haha. I will stop. Genuine, generous people, not carrying around a big ego- I am working on being an amazing person like this.
One amazing thing I have not done is comb through for spelling mistakes and capitalisation. I don't know what it is about me and grammar and especially capitals, we don't get on. I think it just reminds me of a job I had once typing for a one handed typist. I had to do all the capitals for her. The negative association of shift work!
