À propos de moi

We are a tiny family of two: me, Anja (39), and my son Hugo (11) who stays with me every other week.

I have a great interest in architecture, museums, classic art, almost all kinds of music and culture, i.e. visiting theatres, operas and the ballet. Therefore I'm very thankful for living in the culturally thrice blessed city of Dresden! :-) But I also like crafting, decorating, gardening, wood work, sewing... One of my favorite things to do is snooping around flea markets for hours looking for old beautiful things I can reuse i.e. for decorations in my garden, apartment or as a gift. All in all I guess I just have a big love for chic things and beings (fashion, fabrics, flowers, fire flies ...you name it! ^^).

Oh, and did I mention that I love to eat? No? Well, I love food very much!!! Plus good hot drinks. I am not as often cooking as I'd like to...but guests always motivate me. I'd love to cook together with you! :-)

Sometimes I'm able to flee the city, mainly towards the close Saxon Switzerland, and go for a walk. Yes, a walk. I also like hiking but only in my very own sloath-alike Anja-speed. I just love to look at the beautiful surrounding too much to just rush through it or only mind my steps :-)

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

During our trips we want to get to know the world as well as the people living in it. What better way is there to combine these two goals then CS ;-)

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I spent the whole winter semester 2011/2012 in the pretty unknown yet quite big Russian city Ufa (regional metropolis of the region Bashkiria). Pretty adventurous since noone there spoke neither English nore German and I was still learning Russian! ^^ Ufa is very close to Siberia. The temperatures dropped to -and stayed at- 20°C below zero. Snow fell at least every other day. The sun was shining all the time in-between snlw showers. So - I was able to spend several months surrounded by the winter wonder land I always dreamed of! <3 <3 <3
In Ufa I also got to see my first classical ballet, Tchaikovsky's "Swanlake", and fell hopelessly in love with it.

Later during that stay I got to know St. Petersburg, till this day my very favorite city - well, besides Prague, my all-time-fave, and maybe London, and Berlin, of course!, and my hometown Dresden is also very astonishing... well, St. Petersburg is definitely in the top ten ^^. I´m just so into the architecture, museums, culture of these cities ... *sigh*

Unfortunately, I didn't get to Moscow. That's still very high on my bucket list - and on Hugo's, too. He's learning Russian at school since first grade and reeaaaally looking forward to seeing Russia in persona! =)
... hopefully, there will be peace again soon so all people can travel between Eastern and Western Europe in peace again - and the people of Ukraine and Russia can live in peace again.
