About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience Iceland - live, hitch & hike.

ABOUT ME

Hello. I'm a 33-years-old architect, who chose to follow her heart and live a nomad life instead of building a career, for which my Mom never forgave me. I move from country to country every now and then, settling here and there for some time, until I grow too accustomed to this particular life and feel the need to try something else. I would normally either join an alternative community and contribute with my design skills or find a harsh and demanding place to live, depending on my mood, somewhere in the mountains or by the coast, surrounded by pure nature. I'm not ready to settle down and feel like I haven't found my place yet. So I keep looking. I have chosen Iceland for my next destination and am currently figuring out life here.

I'm a hitch-hiker, most of the time - due to the fact of lacking a true travel-soulmate - a solo traveler. Despite the fact that I, sometimes, honestly fear being alone out there, I push my boundaries, improvise and constantly force myself to walk out of my comfort zone, one step at a time. The concept of living off the grid fascinates me though. I'm in the process of limiting my possessions to absolute essentials, quitting my responsibilities and setting of for a long-term travel.

PHILOSOPHY

Accept whatever karma brings.

Also, I think that the most important thing in life is to remain faithful to what you believe in, and to try to make your dreams come true. I believe in destiny, whatever happens to you, happened to you because of a reason.

I grew up in a family where freedom was much more important than money or stability. My mother would hitchhike with 5-years-old me, or my father would quit his job without hesitation just to take us all for a long vacation in a converted van.

Maybe this is why I value my freedom above all.

The good old punk rock DIY philosophy is also important to me. If I can, I'd rather make something with my hands than simply buy it. I like creating and recycling things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm an understanding host and I'm a humble guest. I've been on the road, so I understand how important it is sometimes to have someone out there, waiting for you. Whenever I have a chance, I try to join meetings and events, meet some of you, see old friends. The more I am into hospitality networks, the more my experiences vary, but most of them are still positive. I'm also a member of some low profile hitch-hikers hospitality-exchange networks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted travelers from all over the world, and it has often been an inspiring experience. I stayed with hosts in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. And I loved it.

Interests

In life, I'm interested in living off-the-grid, self-sufficiency, survivalism.
I'm also very into creating: design, photography, DIY. I grew up listening to punk rock and still find it inspiring. In my spare time I love reading good, ambitious literature, write and draw.
I'm a freegan.
