About Me

I grew up outside Washington DC and went to college for Cello Performance at IU-Bloomington. The past 2 years I spent living and working in Cincinnati, OH, an experience which has inspired me to evade a 9-5 for the foreseeable future :) I came to India to study Carnatic Music and am now just coasting on for as long as my travels will take me!

At home I spend most of my time out at local shows, trying out new bars and restaurants, doing yoga, having tea and lighting incense.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm really interested in meeting and learning from locals wherever I visit! I love hearing local insights and have already met some seriously awesome people through CF! Hopefully with CF I can continue to connect with more like-minded people all over and share more good times :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Bjork, Jay Reatard, Bob Dylan, The Dirty Projectors are all lasting favorites, plus at least one obnoxious Top-40 pop hit in rotation at all times :)

Life for me is a lot about quoting Lord of the Rings at pertinent moments, so I guess LOTR is probably one of my top movie picks. Match Point by Woody Allen, as well as most space/sci-fi movies (Alien, Blade Runner, Interstellar).

I'm one of those who is perpetually stuck with 3 books half-way done... Last book I actually finished reading was "The Tao of Physics" by Fritjof Capra. A little dense at times, but I've been recommending it to everyone I meet now!
