My name is Anna, I graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas Texas. I’m from the Ozark area of Arkansas. I studied Philosophy and English and plan on going into nonprofit work. I absolutely love philosophy even though it’s not the most practical major. I’m looking forward to traveling in Europe as I’ve never really traveled much before. I’m still trying to figure out if I want to go to law school or not and am looking forward to taking some time off from school to really think. I’m also excited to focus more on my art. I’m a ceramic artist in my spare time. I mainly make functional pottery and jewelry. I also create my own glazes for my work incorporating ash from different Arkansas trees to get interesting effects. I’ve finally started to get my work into galleries which is really exciting. When I’m not in school I work as a production assistant at an environmental nonprofit. I also work as a babysitter/housekeeper on weekends. In my spare time I love to relax with a good book, bake, walk my rescue dog, volunteer, and spend time in the studio working on my pottery.

I’m going to be backpacking solo through Europe when I graduate. I think the best thing about visiting anywhere is getting to know the people who live there. I’ve never solo travelled and I think staying with someone nice would make the experience much more fun and makes me feel less intimidated by the idea.

Movies: I like cheesy romcoms and really scary horror movies. The best film I’ve seen recently is the new A Star is Born
Books: I’m a huge reader and I minored in Literature. I like a wide array of genres. I read a lot of Human Rights material for school so I like to read lighter stuff in my free time. I like sci-fi and fantasy, loved A Song of Ice and Fire and the Lord of the Rings series. Favorite recent book has to be Before We We’re Yours. All time favorites: The Glass Castle, 1984, Anna Karenina
