About Me
Hey there!
I am Anna, 32 years young, and I live in a small town in Germany. The nearest bigger city is Dortmund, the hometown of the famous football club "Borussia Dortmund."
At the moment I am living at my parents place to help them with everything. I love growing my own fruits and vegetables in the garden and harvesting them in summer. Although this summer I will be away, but then my family and friends will be happy instead. :)
I am currently doing my teacher training at a vocational school to become a teacher for biology and nutrition. Talking about school is kind of a weird teacher habit – I try to avoid the topic, I promise!
I enjoy doing sports, although I am not great at any specific one – more of an all-rounder who just loves to move. Right now, I really enjoy bouldering and beach volleyball. I love being outdoors and I am always up for a good hike.
I think my secret superpower is getting excited about things – I always try to stay open and curious and to have new experiences. I love laughing and always try to see the positive side of things.
Looking forward to getting to know you 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
On the one hand, to break down some of the stereotypes about Germans 😄
I am a friendly and helpful person – not always perfectly on time (but I try!). Time is a valuable resource, and I truly don’t want to waste anyone else’s. I do enjoy beer, but I like wine at least as much 😉
On the other hand, I have stayed in countless hostels and still enjoy spending time with fellow travelers – it is always been fun and enriching. But at some point, those experiences started to feel a bit repetitive. I would love to give my travels a deeper meaning and make them more personal.
I have lived in shared apartments in Mexico and Colombia for several months, and I have also taken part in various exchange programs, staying with host families for a few weeks.
Through everyday life in another country – and through the exchange of stories and perspectives – I felt I got a more authentic sense of the people and culture.
And that’s exactly what I hope to experience again on my next journey through Singapore and Malaysia.

Teach, Learn, Share
I find this part difficult to answer. I learn something new every day and maybe, sometimes, I have an impact on other people’s learning.
