About Me

Hi! I am a queer transgender woman and I live in Wroclaw, Poland. I've been living in Poland for 4 years now since my moving there for my studies in 2021. I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and I'm currently studying Psychology, although not that long ago I decided that I want to go back to Mathematics starting next semester.

I enjoy the Polish mentality. It's very similar to the way Ukrainians do things, and I never had problems with communicating and developing deep relationships with Polish people. Of course, I am also very proud of my heritage and my country of origin, I am always informed on what is happening in my country and I have as much Polish friends as Ukrainian friends. I am glad to have a unique perspective of an immigrant, and if you're lucky to meet and spend time with me, I bet I can tell you some interesting stuff about my experience.

As I have already said, I am proudly queer and trans. I enjoy learning about queer people in other countries and I believe every person deserves respect, dignity, and a place in this world. I expect my host to be open to this kind of stuff, and I will be very open and eager to tell about my experience in return!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am not picky, as long as I have a place to sleep, a shower and a kitchen I am going to be satisfied. I don't expect the host to spend time with me, although it would be great if you did — I like getting to know other people and I bet you can show me a lot more interesting places than Google Maps can. I am all in for some cultural exchange and, of course, language practice.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Christopher Nolan movies, generally all the movies that feel like a mental workout. I am currently watching House M.D. in my free time. I listen to a lot of Ukrainian indie punk rock groups as well as some more known anglophone artists. I am very bad at reading books, but right now I am reading a book on one controversial topic in 20th century history. I also like indie computer games, usually fast-paced with a lot happening on the screen at the same time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

6 chin ups. Definitely amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about Ukrainian and Polish culture, I also know a lot of random stuff in general. I would really like to try my Norwegian out in a native setting although I fear I might give up quickly.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am definitely bringing some of my favourite Polish sweets. I also plan on buying groceries/food for myself and making a Ukrainian dish for the hosts to enjoy.
