Coming from Szczecin, Poland, recently based in Brussels for a scholarship in the European Innovation Council of the European Commission, currently living in Jeréz, Spain, for an ESC volunteering project. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I firmly believe that real travelling means indulging in cultures and places through contact with the local people. I like the feeling of community that prioritizes making travel accessible for everyone.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

🌍 A challenge to visit 25 countries before 25th birthday (and later on 40 by 30th, surpassed by one!)
🐬 Swam with the dolphins fulfilling one of my childhood dreams.
🌿 Visited the jungle.
🪸 Admired the beauty of Carribean coral reefs close to Cuba.
🦠 Observed bioluminescent bays of Puerto Rico.
🏄🏻‍♀️ Surfed on the coasts of Canary Islands and Spanish Cantabria.
🛵 Drove Vespa on Sicilian roads.
⛰️ Hiked ancient Sicilian road Via Magna Francigena and the Great Ring of Monti Sibillini shaken by the 2016 earthquake.
🚘 Drove through the astonishing Carpathian roads of Transalpina and Trasfagarašan in Romania and off-roads of Vashlovani National Park in Georgia.
💃🏻 Danced salsa under the Cuban sky.
🈵 Did a research project in China, and in my free time learnt to make Chinese dumplings during local workshops in Suzhou and visited the Avatar Mountains.
🇬🇪 Participated in Georgian supra.
⛷️ Skied on the glacier and attained the ski instructor license.
⛵ Sailed in the Tall Ships Races and after 9 years from then attained a sailing and motorboat license.
🎭 Lived in Venice and participated in the stunning Biennale Festival.
🤗 Volunteered around the globe.
👩🏻‍⚕️ Became a Medical Doctor being 24 y.o.
🧪 Attained PhD in medical biochemistry and molecular biology in Germany, co-discovering one of the genes causing intellectual disability in children, awaiting 'Nature' publication!
🇮🇹 Learnt Italian in one month fluently on my own after betting I am able to.
🌠 Saw the stars on Atacama desert.
🌄 Visited Bolivian Salar der Uyuni for the sunrise.
🏆 Won a Young Traveller Special Prize during one of the biggest European travel festivals "Kolosy" 2022 and qualified as one of 20 best travel photographies of 2023 in the "Photo Globe" 2023.
🏅Got to the finals of the "Polish Language and Literature Olympiad", passed C2 in English and C1 in German when I was 17 y.o.
🏔️ Explored the caves inside of the glaciers during the winter in the Austrian Alps.
🎙️ Performed on a scene together with some famous Polish musicians, such as Grzegorz Turnau, Artur Andrus, Fisz Emade Tworzywo, Organek, or during bombastic film music concerts, as well as sang jazz in random jam sessions across the globe.
📸 Had a modelling photo session in the New York City.
🌈 Wrote diaries in the mist of Niagara Falls, flew baloon and saw a rainbow above them.
💫 Observed the Northern Lights from the beach at the side of Ottawa River in Canada.
🦈 Saw a shark while swimming in the ocean and managed not to have a panic attack because of that 😃
💉 Survived all above with type 1 diabetes - and accidentally visited the Medical Institute in Toronto where Banting and Best discovered insulin, and where their Nobel Prize document is kept.
