So I'm totally new to this. Right now I'm working as an Au Pair in Oxford and I try to see as much of the UK as I can before I leave in July.
I've also lived in Philadelphia for a year, but after I got my bachelor's in sociology/pedagogy last year, I kind of had to leave again (typical german "Fernweh", if you know what I mean).
Right now I'm still confined to english speaking countries because that's really the only foreign language I speak and I can't imagine being stranded somewhere without knowing at least some of the language.
Anyway, ask away if you would want to know anything about me!

Be warned though, I love myself a nice, juicy discussion about current politics (and sorry, but I won't back down about a number of things, I do love my core values).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people. I think most people on here do. And while I can be shy with strangers in the beginning, I usually warm up to them quite quickly. I think couchsurfing isn't only about visiting a new city/country, it's about seeing this place through the eyes of a local.

Also, it's cheaper than a hostel/bnb. Of course it is. I'm not going to lie about that. I'm a poor Au Pair/student, I can't afford to see the world flying planes and living in hotels. But I do appreciate my hosts and won't overstay my welcome, if that's any consideration.

Interests

Hm, I'm not sure what to say here... most people have those wonderful lives with travels and cool hobbies etc. I just like reading. And watching tv shows. That's about it. Sure I love to travel, but who doesn't?

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly I like to listen to rock music, so I'm just going to list a few of my favorite bands on here (like a good old myspace profile!): Rise Against, Enter Shikari, Shinedown, Coldplay, Linkin Park, Hands like houses, Billy Talent, Bush... but also more relaxing music like Chase Holfelder and Sleeping at last.
I love concerts and festivals (Rock am Ring in Germany, for example!).

I do like to watch movies (especially in the cinema), but usually I watch tv shows theses days. Except Marvel. I could always watch a Marvel movie.
Again, here's a list of great tv shows I like to watch: Doctor Who, The 100, Sherlock, Supernatural, The Walking Dead, Orange is the new black, Sense 8, American Horror Story, Lost, Heroes, Prison Break, Torchwood...

As for books, there are way too many to list here. We could talk about books when we meet! :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to the Tardis Set in Cardiff very recently, and maybe that's not very amazing for other people, but for me it was one of the most amazing things ever.

What I Can Share with Hosts
