ABOUT ME

My name is Aku and I'm a 32-year old girl from Helsinki. I love sports (especially outdoors) and traveling, meeting new people and learning new things.

I have a (perhaps a bit too?) busy life with my job (I work in social media for an airline), but I try to maintain a balance by exercising and finding other fun things to do besides work.

I want to take part in couch surfing because I love the philosophy, want to meet new people, show what makes Helsinki such a great place to live, and, if I play my cards right, perhaps to earn some couch currency for my future travels. :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can host for one or two nights at a time, but not every week. My work and hobbies keep me quite busy so sometimes it may be hard to find time to host, but if that's not possible, maybe I can take you on a running tour around Helsinki. Just ask! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed many friends' couches in different parts of the world but not through this website.

Interests

Sports in almost all its forms, especially outdoors. Running, climbing, biking, orienteering, gym, spinning, gym, tennis, skiing (crosscountry), snowboarding. I love all seasons as much as I love endorphin.

Music, gigs, films, theatre. Urban events (restaurant days, flee markets, events. I love my city Helsinki!

Travel! Whenever possible. Sometimes for a short weekend get-away, but at least once a year somewhere a bit further, a bit less traveled - and a bit warmer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh, so many that I don't know where to start. I'm so grateful for having seen so many beautiful places and having met so many beautiful people in different parts of the world. But sometimes you don't have to go far to experience amazing things, they can be right in front of you but you just need to have the right people with you to share them.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can take you on a sightseeing running tour in Helsinki. My specialty!

Afterwards we can share a meal. And a bottle of wine.

And you can have sauna at mine if you like.
